My hair barely touches my shoulders (I've been horrible to it) and I want it to grow, but I'm more or less clueless. I've been particularly interested in learning more about no shampoo. Would anyone recommend it? What can you tell me about it? If shampoo isn't as detrimental to growth as I've been made to think, is there anything I should look for

Just cause I want to make sure I have this right, I do have some questions:
-How much milk, how much baking soda?
-How do you do a ACV rinse?
-How much oil/butter/conditioner (and what kind of conditioner)?
-How would I keep my ends moisturized?
I pretty much gotcha on the rest though I wouldnt know anything about protecting my hair either. :P
I appreciate all your help.

I am relaxed so I'll see if I can spot the other products you mentioned. Which oil do you swear by? And can you recommend any specific conditioner to DC with?
My hair is currently too short for a ponytail, nevermind a bun or the baggy method (lol), but I'll keep those tips in mind as it gets longer. I've got a loooong way to go.

-Trims every few weeks help.
-I've been using sulfate-free shampoos, and notice my hair feels a lot softer and healthier.
-For moisturizing, I use Organic Root Stimulator Carrot Oil and Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-in Creme

I haven't EVER trimmed and my ends are no joke. I'll give it a go.
Thanks for all your advice. :)

You can pretty much find them anywhere. I've used the Rite Aid brand and another one (Nature's Bounty?) and had good results. Any which one you chose will have biotin, and an assload of other vitamins listed on the back.

i'm natural, and get my best hair growth when i do nothing with it
either wear it in twists, or curly, no heat period
and making sure the hair stays moisturized

Moisture seems to be the trick with hair growth. Make sure it's not dry and brittle (so it's less prone to breakage) and you should be fine. The message is well receieved though I'm still not very good at it. I have a sew-in style at the moment. =/
