I know that Software Etc (Now EB Games) and Gamestop employee's (at least, as of a couple years back) make commision on upsells. Warrentees, strat guides, the like. And they're pretty zealous, too. yeah, they try really hard to get me to sign up for newsletters, and put $5 on some game coming out next month, etc. i look like i play more video games then i actually do, so it takes a while to explain i only buy a couple of games a year, and just play the hell out of them, and that i never buy new games. the employees always act like i'm trying to trick them with my stories, like if they talk to me for one more second i'll give in and sign up for their frequent players club discount card.
