That's the first reaction I've heard to M.C. from the local geek population that didn't use the words "horrified" or "nauseated." Your stamina and composure are admirable.
Indeed, but anthony is one of the most mellow and tollerant people I know, possibly only topped by Ian Fredrick, who works over at Comicopolis, and who's also had to deal with M.C., and honestly doesn't consider him to be a scourge. I could not imagine having to be on the other side of a counter, providing 'good customer service' to M.C., as he, anthony, and danielle have.
I honestly mostly feel sorry for the guy, but like anthony, enjoy NOT talking gaming with the guy. His gaming exploits are those of a true munchkin. Almost all gamers have been there, but it's kinda sad when they are still munchkins into their twenties and beyond.

Hey, let me clarify, I didn't say I enjoy talking with the guy, it's just that talking about gaming with him is atrocious. Mostly because he only plays shadowrun, and I've never played shadowrun and have told him this a million times, but he insists on talking my ear off about it anyway.
i can deal with practically anyone in small doses.
Fair enough ;) And, he doesn't just play shadowrun. I've played shadowrun a bit, and whenever he talked gaming at me, even knowing this, he still insisted on talking my ear off about Werewolf...
I think there was a third factor: we couldn't get him to go away. But honestly, I think we were cruel. And I second that sentiment that black_hatter has done well.
Some days I spend about two hours on the bus. It's expanding my perspective on this city... a side I don't see walking, biking, or driving.
i don't know if i ever told you about this, but when i was organizing shadowfist tournaments at game*alot, M.C. showed up and wanted to sign up. M.C. is known throughout the santa cruz gaming community as a terrible loser and an inveterate cheat, and i told him so to his face, which apparently was the first time he had ever found out he had this reputation, or so his shocked, teary-eyed reaction indicated. he was pissed at the time, but ever since then he has treated me with a lot of respect. i think everyone else had just been avoiding or ditching him rather than play cards with him or whatever. sometimes it's hard to be honest with someone without sounding mean, but he had to hear why people didn't want to hang out with him if he was to have any chance of changing his ways.
Yeah, I think I did hear about that... I subscribe to the same philosophy, which often leaves people hurt, but I love the idea of someone having complete faith in what I'm telling them about how I feel.
