Where was she headed? Apparently to some teacher's office. That was. Okay. Trying to ignore his heart pounding against his ribcage, Hawke tried to nonchalantly lean against the wall, watching Ionia out of the corner of his eye.]

She spared a glance over to her side, where Hawke was nonchalantly being nonchalant in an inconspicuous manner. Oh, he must have been here to see a teacher too. Maybe even Papa. She waved over to him, then settled back to staring impatiently at the door.]

Oh God she waved.
That tiny little gesture made it feel like his heart was going to burst out of his chest. He felt all at once warm and uncomfortable, and completely unsure of what to do in response.
He froze to the spot, knowing that things were going to get very awkward but finding himself unable to leave.]
