Character Survey!

Body and Appearance
1. Describe the character's height and build. Is he heavyset, thin, short, rangy?

He's just under 6', so he is tall-ish. His build is thin, and turning into that of a dancer's since he's been obsessing over ballet for months now. There's muscle there, but only enough strength to lift a hundred pound woman over his head and do high leaps; he can't knock someone out with a punch, or do any other impressive feat of strength like that.

2. How old is he?

Draco just turned 22 on June 5th, 2011 village time.

3. Describe his posture. Does he carry himself well or does he slouch?

Draco spreads out and slouches when no one is looking - usually when he's lazing about the flat. Of course he's always lazing about when in cat-form. Otherwise, his posture is that of one who grew up being chided for bad posture.

4. How is his health? Is he fit or out of shape? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?

He hasn't been sick since Annatar made his Ring of Power, and won't be unless he takes it off. Of course, if someone poisons him, or hurts him physically, he'll be affected until the Ring works its magic.

5. How does he move? Is he clumsy, graceful, tense, fluid?

Draco was graceful before the ballet lessons, so there's minimal improvement there. When working on potions, his hands move very quickly, but precisely. He looks like he's dancing when moving about the potions lab, grabbing ingredients and what not.

6. How attractive is this character physically? How does he perceive himself in the mirror?

Draco's is very pointy, as is said in the books, but he's grown into it very nicely. Not everyone thinks pale skin, white blond hair, a pointy face and grey eyes is attractive, but there are plenty that do. Draco certainly thinks he looks good, and it reflects in his attitude.

7. Describe his complexion. Dark, light, clear, scarred?

His skin is freakishly pale, some would say. There's enough pink in his cheeks and lips to keep him from looking like a corpse (or a vampire, though the sun is definitely his enemy). The places under his eyes will easily turn dark when he hasn't had enough rest. He takes good care of his skin with his own secret recipes, though his hands still have some stubborn callouses from working with pestles and knifes and hot cauldrons.

8. Describe his hair: color, texture, style.

His hair is rather interesting. White blond, thin, but there is a lot of it so if he wore it long it would feel thick. Draco spends more time on his hair than anything else in the morning to make it shiny and soft. The length just brushes his chin, but he keeps it pushed back behind his ears, or swept back an a wavy style.

9. What color are his eyes?

Middle ground grey; not a pale or light grey, not an angry storm cloud grey. More like this.

10. Does the character have any other noteworthy features?

His feet used to be nice-looking. XD Ballet is doing its best to make them into a typical dancer's feet, much to his dismay.

11. What are his chief tension centers?

His neck and between the shoulder blades. He has to work real hard to keep from showing tension around his jaw and mouth when upset.

12. What is the character's wardrobe like? Casual, dressy, utilitarian? Bright colors, pastels, neutrals? Is it varied, or does he have six of the same suit?

Draco dresses in business casual most days, nice, dark trousers and shoes, a button down shirt, a belt. Sleeves are usually rolled up at work. Cashmere or fine wool jumpers on chilly days. If he's posing as Lyra, he likes to wear colorful and airy blouses and frocks.

13. Do his clothes fit well? Does he seem comfortable in them?

His clothes are tailored to fit him, or specifically made for him. He always knows he looks good.

14. Does he dress the same on the job as he does in his free time? If not, what are the differences?

The things that change in his wardrobe from day to day are the cuts of his clothing, or the colors. His Sin or Franks wardrobe always has a sexier edge than day time clothing.

15. You knew it was coming: Boxers, briefs or commando?

Silk boxers. Sometimes commando, though that's for special occasions.

Speech
1. What does this character's voice sound like? High-pitched, deep, hoarse?

His accent has that well-bred, snobby Brit lilt to it, though it does loosen up when he's drunk or in a good mood. The pitch is in the middle-high range, and lowers when he yells or threatens someone.

2. How does he normally speak? Loud, soft, fast, evenly? Does he talk easily, or does he hesitate?

Draco is a naturally loud person, but controls it well from situation to situation. The pace is even and unhurried, mostly due to the culture his accent comes from.

3. Does the character have a distinct accent or dialect? Any individual quirks of pronunciation? Any, like, you know, verbal tics?

See above. ...It's near impossible for him to say a hard 'a,' like an American. He does really bad impressions of Americans.

4. What language/s does he speak, and with how much fluency?

Draco knows a smattering of Welsh, French, and German. His Latin is very good; he could hold a conversation in it.

5. Does he switch languages or dialects in certain situations?

See above.

6. Is he a good impromptu speaker, or does he have to think about his words?

He could make up a speech on the fly, but that's more due to his high class upbringing. A Slytherin always thinks about his words, but he does it quicker than most people and never lets them know he that he had to think about the words.

7. Is he eloquent or inarticulate? Under what circumstances might this change?

Draco was bred to be eloquent, charming; a snake with a silver tongue. That isn't to say that he's never met someone he couldn't charm. It happens.

Mental and Emotional
1. How intelligent is this character? Is he book-smart or street-smart?

He has more book smarts than street smarts, and more survival smarts than both combined. Draco fancies himself a genius; that's not totally true, but he is exceptionally clever and studies his crafts hard.

2. Does he think on his feet, or does he need time to deliberate?

Both. A Slytherin doesn't rush in like Gryffindor, but he needs to be able to see the right move quickly. By right, I mean most beneficial.

3. Describe the character's thought process. Is he more logical, or more intuitive? Idealistic or practical?

Logical and practical. He's only idealistic on a handful of personal things.

4. What kind of education has the character had?

Excellent tutors during his elementary years before Hogwarts. Among them were Latin, piano, history (mostly family history), and the dark arts.

5. What are his areas of expertise? What, if anything, is he interested in learning more about?

Potions and potions. His favorite things are research and development.

6. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?

Both; 60% extro, 40% intro. He's very, very private about some things, and has the ability to keep his feelings hidden when necessary. Voldemort is to thank about the latter.

7. Describe the character's temperament. Is he even-tempered or does he have mood swings? Cheerful or melancholy? Laid-back or driven?

Oh, does he ever have mood swings! He puts on a cheerful front as often as possible, so he appears more consistent to others. He's very driven to prove himself as a decent person, which is why he works so hard all the time.

8. How does he respond to new people or situations? Is he suspicious, relaxed, timid, enthusiastic?

To Draco, there's very little True New in the village. He's very jaded when it comes to the weird crap that happens, and the people it brings in. If anything Truely New happens, he is extremely suspicious.

9. Is he more likely to act, or to react?

React by sitting back and letting the Gryffindors act first so he can assess the situation. Then he'll act appropriately.

10. Which is his default: fight or flight?

Flight. Unless someone he cares about is in trouble. But he'll make a plan first.

11. Describe the character's sense of humor. Does he appreciate jokes? Puns? Gallows humor? Bathroom humor? Pranks?

Draco loves to laugh, and likes to make a joke as often as possible. His humor is usually dirty-minded, or simplistic.

12. Does the character have any diagnosable mental disorders? If yes, how does he deal with them?

You don't live in the village for five years without developing some sort of psychosis. He's got some nasty demons dogging him. His capability for mercy in certain situations has suffered severely; step over his threshold of tolerance, and he'll enjoy the nightmarish things he'll do to you.

13. What moments in this character's life have defined him as a person?

Besides all the bad shit, the most defining moment of his life was Harry pulling him out of the fiendfyre. Before that, he didn't know that there was anything in him that a person like Harry would see as worth saving.

14. What does he fear?

Voldemort, dementors, being completely abandoned, people losing faith in him, the catacombs.

15. What are his hopes or aspirations?

Draco aspires to be his own man, in the village and outside of it, where he lives as he wants to without having to bend to the wishes or expectations of others.

16. What is something he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?

What really happened to him in the catacombs. Or how lonely he is and what he's like when no one else is around.

Relationships
1. Describe this character's relationship with his parents.

Complicated. His relationship with his father is up in the air since he hasn't seen the man in years, but he does have a hard sack of resentment for Lucius where Voldemort is concerned.

He loves his mother, but wishes there was more softness than stone in her. He wouldn't mind a hug once a year.

2. Does the character have any siblings? What is/was their relationship like?

No siblings. Sometimes he thinks he would have liked one, but also knows he would have hated it at the time.

3. Are there other blood relatives to whom he is close? Are there ones he can't stand?

His grandfather died when he was a toddler, and he didn't know any other close blood relatives besides his parents.

4. Are there other, unrelated people whom he considers part of his family? What are his relationships with them?

Severus, but he's stoking an angry fire for the man currently.

5. Who is/was the character's best friend? How did they meet?

Draco ends up with unexpected best friends. An older Ron Weasley, and a fugly old man by the name of Stildyne were two of his best friends, but they're gone now. He still gets really fucking sad when he thinks about them, especially Stildyne. That one still makes me cry. Draco met Ron around Christmas one year; their friendship was really strange at first, but they grew into it. Don't remember how Draco and Stildyne met, but it probably involved Draco annoying the old man.

Currently, I would say Draco considers Annatar his best friend, He certainly trusts the Elf more than anyone else, as silly and foolish as that is, and looks forward to spending time with him. ...I think they met at some sort of party.

6. Does he have other close friends?

A few. The village likes to snatch his friends away. Sad face. Faramir is close enough, as well as Meg, Vianne and Anouk, Kurt, Chris Kent, and I'm probably forgetting people.

7. Does he make friends easily, or does he have trouble getting along with people?

He is friendly to people who are friendly to him. If they're in the village long enough, they usually become friends.

8. Which does he consider more important: family or friends?

That's definitely an interesting question right now. ...I would say that he's hard-wired to always pick family. God help you if you screw with either, though.

9. Is the character single, married, divorced, widowed? Has he been married more than once?

I think he counts as a widower. He's been married once in play - Astoria is waiting for him back home.

10. Is he currently in a romantic relationship with someone other than a spouse?

Nope. He's not in a romantic relationship with anyone right now. Flirty and teasing with a few, but nothing serious or concrete.

11. Who was his first crush? Who is his latest?

First crush was Viktor Krum, though he didn't make a lustful connection there in his head at the time. He has a few crushes currently, but refuses to acknowledge that he does, or do anything about them. He's such a stubborn idiot.

12. What does he look for in a romantic partner?

Kindness. That certain spark to a person that makes them able to keep up with him. A wicked sense of humor.

13. Does the character have children? Grandchildren? If yes, how does he relate to them? If no, does he want any?

Scorpius, his precious boy! He's worse than his mother when it comes to Scorpius, to the boy's dismay more often than not.

14. Does he have any rivals or enemies?

He doesn't hate Harry anymore, but he does like to give him a good ribbing now and then when he shows up in the village. No straight up enemies currently.

15. What is the character's sexual orientation? Where does he fall on the Kinsey scale?

He was Asexual throughout his childhood and Hogwarts. In Haurvatat, he's a 6 on the Kinsey Scale. At home, he's a 5 because of Astoria. Life would be interesting in the village if she showed up.

16. How does he feel about sex? How important is it to him?

"Yes, please!"

While he makes sure both parties get off and enjoy the experience a lot, Draco uses sex as a personal comfort and outlet. It's not really a way to connect emotionally with a partner, not anymore.

17. What are his turn-ons? Turn-offs? Weird bedroom habits?

He's...kind of freaky in the bedroom. He likes bottoming best, but he can be bossy and a tease. He's no stranger to toys, whips, ties, etc. His biggest turn-on is being watched while he pleasures himself. Milder turn-ons are hair pulling or playing, kissing, and understated dirty talk.

Beliefs
1. Do you know your character's astrological (zodiac of choice) sign? How well does he fit type?

He is a Gemini, and was born in the year of the Monkey. "Inventor, motivator, improviser, quick-witted, inquisitive, flexible, innovative, problem solver, self-assured, sociable, artistic, polite, dignified, competitive, objective, factual, intellectual. Can be egotistical, vain, arrogant, selfish, reckless, snobbish, deceptive, manipulative, cunning, jealous, suspicious."

I would say all that fits him pretty well.

2. Is this character religious, spiritual, both, or neither? How important are these elements in his life?

He spurns religion. Doesn't appeal to him, and he's got a beef with God.

3. Does this character have a personal code of morals or ethics? If so, how did that begin? What would it take to compromise it?

He's a nice guy to most, but also a conniving bastard when there's something he wants. His morals are very flexible, and the only thing he puts stock in is himself, his family, and close friends. He would break any of his morals or ethics, and then figure out a way to get back at who or whatever forced him into the break. Sure, people might hate him afterwards for selling them out, and it would hurt, but that's the way life works.

4. How does he regard beliefs that differ from his? Is he tolerant, intolerant, curious, indifferent?

He doesn't really care unless he or someone he cares about is being insulted.

5. What prejudices does he hold? Are they irrational or does he have a good reason for them?

He was forced to let go of his old prejudices. His new ones are against specific people rather than ideals or a type of person.

Daily Life
1. What is the character's financial situation? Is he rich, poor, comfortable, in debt?

He has more money than he knows what to do with. With all the work he does, he makes money faster than he has time to spend it. Draco usually donates a large sum to businesses when they get wrecked, or buys things for his friends. He likes to spoil his friends.

2. What is his social status? Has this changed over time, and if so, how has the change affected him?

That's a hard thing to define in the village, I don't know if it applies.

3. Where does he live? House, apartment, trailer? Is his home his castle or just a place to crash? What condition is it in? Does he share it with others?

His room at the hotel is small and drab. Sometimes he'll buy something to brighten up the place when he's in a good mood swing, but he's not there enough to really care what it looks like. His favorite parts are the couch, the TV, and his cat bed. He uses the bedroom for storage.

4. Besides the basic necessities, what does he spend his money on?

Sweets. His friends. Clothes.

5. What does he do for a living? Is he good at it? Does he enjoy it, or would he rather be doing something else?

Apothecary: good at it, enjoys it. Spends most of his time there.
Hidden Franks manager: good at it, enjoys it, but looking for someone new to take over.
The Sin: Very good at it, enjoys it.
The Inferno: Good at it, enjoys it for the change of pace it brings during the week.

6. What are his interests or hobbies? How does he spend his free time?

Draco does a lot of reading, mostly potion theories. Ballet is a hobby and interest - he thinks the human body, what it can do, the beauty of it, etc. are very interesting. He spends his free time cat napping, swimming (naked, when he can can away with it) and weight training at night, and walking up and down the beach.

7. What are his eating habits? Does he skip meals, eat out, drink alcohol, avoid certain foods?

Draco can't cook, so all of his meals are taken at the village restaurants, or made by friends. He eats quickly because he hates eating alone, unless he's brought work with him. Draco drinks far too much alcohol and sweets.

Associations
Which of the following do you associate with the character, or which is his favorite:

1. Color? I associate blue with him. I don't know why. He likes green more than blue.
2. Smell? His favorite smell is the wind before a storm.
3. Time of day? Sunrise. He usually goes tot eh beach to watch it in the summer.
4. Season? Winter.
5. Book? Doesn't have a favorite.
6. Music? Anything he can dance to.
7. Place? The beach, or Annatar's room.
