So, I'm super excited to report that after a full 2 months of being veg, I finally got my hands on faux chicken. I was aprehensive--after all, chicken tenders are uber comfort food--but I gave them a go ( Read more... )

I don't know why I didn't post this to ya earlier.

On the 15th of this month, Starbucks will be starting to serve "Vivianos" (probably didn't spell that right). It's a smoothie made with a WHOLE banana, milk, and Naked Juice, as well as a protein/fiber powder. The Mango/Banana one has 250 calories (with a standard of 2% milk, but you can sub any milk/soy). The chocolate banana one has a standard 270 calories.

Check out the wiki on NAKED JUICE. They are incredibly healthy, since it's no added sugar. So it's not like those healthy "smoothies" that add all the extra stuff.

Not sure if you are VEGAN, or just basic vegetarian, but if you're vegan, the vivianos can be made with Soy, and just ex the fiber/protein powder (it has Whey in it).

Huzzah, healthy Starbucks!! :D

I'm just plain old vegetarian. It would be near impossible to be a vegan and still eat on campus, I think. And even so, I'm not super into the animals rights aspect of it to be honest.

Naked juice is AMAZING stuff, so that makes me really happy to hear! And you're right, smoothies sound healthy in theory but a lot of them are packed full of added sugar and all kinds of other stuff. Starbucks is a really cool company for doing that.

Morning Star--I highly suggest it! They have a bunch of other stuff, too, like stir fry strips and nuggets, and I think even a beef substitute. I will definitely buy them again.

I've had other Morning Star products and wasn't too impressed... but I'm so about to go to Wal*Mart so I'll give these a try. =)

Maybe they've gotten better? I got the chicken tenders. And I made them in the over, too, I think that may make a big difference. I know it does for a lot of stuff.
