Oh Ican see him, my co-traveller in winter! Orion is a winter constellation here and with the sky clean, it accompanies me to a bus stop every day. Thank you for this serene, exquisite photo. A 15km hike - what a devotion!
I love the Orion constellation...and this picture is breathtaking, as is the one you posted in the comments. I'm like you,not certain I would hike that far in the snow willingly but to get a pictures like these, I'd be tempted.
You always bring us such amazing photos but these...spectacular!
Snow dunes............have you been to the dunes along the Oregon coast near Florence?? I went dune buggy racing with friends from OZ It was so much fun
BTW check out the other shot that I posted as a reply to vjezkova
((((NODS))))))) for sure a good time and of course if you happen to be in an area where there is not city nearby............almost like you can reach up and touch them. I still recall when mom and I were staying in Mesa Verde. The lodge is located high on the mesa...... At night you could see so clearly the stars......and out on our terrace the twinkling lights of Durango. I also recall earlier when we were in New Zealand dad took me outside on the patio to show me the stars.... He told me that given we were below the equator it was all different........and first pointed out the Southern Cross. That night it felt like I could reach up and pick on out of the sky because it was clear and crisp and no city around to interfere
