Summary: Batman is very happy with the way that Robin has picked up his training, his methods and his habits. Generally. But his protege showing up at the Batcave with two small children, Tim and Jason, clinging to him proves he's adopted one trait Batman would have rather he hadn't. It seems the batfamily has an incurable penchant for picking up ( Read more... )

Catherine's in a bad place. Or rather she's been in a bad place for a long time and she's determined not to let anyone help her.

Um. *Offers you a tissue*

This is a wonderful adaptation of the source material; I'm really enjoying reading it! You do a great job capturing the characters' voices.

Dying to know how Bruce ends up solving his Timmy quandary!

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying this adaptation. It's certainly a lot of fun to write.

As for what Bruce ends up doing...well, we'll get there soon enough.

Catherine is still quite a step up from Sheila Haywood. Thank goodness Bruce's desperate devotion to the bond between mother and son wasn't aimed at her.

It's sad but sweet that in Tim's sterile study environment (masquerading as a bedroom) he has the photo of himself with Dick to hold onto for comfort. I suppose he would be the first and last face Tim sees everyday, so it's no wonder that his hero worship has been built up.

I'm curious to find out how Bruce will approach the problem of Tim's living situation. Hm, and how he'll break the adoption news to Jason too.

Thank you for sharing this with everyone, it's a delight!

Catherine really is a step up from Sheila. Catherine at least loves her son despite her many shortcomings.

Tim is a strong kid. I think that he was very good at using the tiniest hints of affection to keep himself going. Hence how a single hug from Dick kept him going for years. And yes that lends itself to the massive hero-worship Tim has for Dick.

As for Jason's adoption and Tim's living situation, all will be revealed in good time, I promise.

Thank you for reading! I'm glad you're enjoying this story.

Excellent chapter.
Don’t know enough to say whether the homes are an impressive alternate interpretation or just a good retelling of canon but I like the portrayal all the same.

Thank you.

As for the homes, it's a mixture of alternate interpretation and a retelling of canon considering that canon doesn't provide a lot of information. (It also doesn't help that the comics writers tend to underestimate how damaging of an environment they had Tim grow up in.) Either way, I'm glad you enjoyed the portrayal of their homes.
