But his protege showing up at the Batcave with two small children, Tim and Jason, clinging to him proves he's adopted one trait Batman would have rather he hadn't. It seems the batfamily has an incurable penchant for picking up

Those poor sweet little things. Jason can't express sadness because he learned early that showing vulnerability got u killed, or at least made u a target. Even in the safety of the manor, he can never let go of his earliest teachings. Poor Timmy is closing up again, and Dick is worrying himself to death. I hope whatever Bruce has planned that it works out well. Heh, the Drakes wouldn't even recognize Tim in a group his own age. Such poor parents, if they hadn't needed an heir they would have never have had kids.

Yes, exactly. Jason is bottling things up and Tim is bracing himself for having to leave and Dick is just trying to keep it all together.

The Drakes are people that probably should never have had children, but despite the damage they've done they managed to produce a great kid. (Not that they should get the credit for that, of course.) Apparently their genes weren't too hard on him, at least.

Yup, the same goes for Jason. His real mom's a HORRIBLE person, both in her work, and her back story. She's a murderer, and his dad abandons the family and becomes hired arms. How Jason became as good as he is without genes or a proper upbringing is just...Jason (the new word for "Miracles").
The Drakes are just as bad parents, how such people make great kids is beyond me, but the kids are the ones that are important. Jason WANTS to be good, so he will be good, same goes for Tim. Great job though.
