I'm impressed they decided to keep him in, to be honest. After Mum fell and cut her head, we took her to hospital and she came home with us a couple of hours later! I'm sure he'll be fine, and I'll be thinking of you all.
The cut was rather large, about three and a half inches long and about a quarter of an inch deep and it bled copiously; it took several staples to close it satisfactorily, a few more than John could tolerate, actually.
I simply couldn't believe that such a wound could have been produced by simply falling onto a book, it looked more as though someone had hit him with a brick or something.
I'm very glad they did keep him in, because they may not have discovered the blood clot if they'd discharged him quickly.
