As a big fan of Christmas, I've been feeling rather low about my inability to feel any Christmas cheer this year, and I've been wondering why that is

I always look forward to hearing about your cake as I don't make one now as nobody really eats it. Hope you feel a bit brighter soon and that rain cloud leaves you. What a mystery about Charles and the gift! Enjoy your nightgowns and I,too, would wonder what they may come up with! xx
I do hope the rain will clear quickly, and that you'll be feeling better tomorrow.
Geoff and I will be spending the holiday period at home this year, for the first time since I can remember, except for one year when the weather kept us here until mid-January; it will certainly feel very different now.
In our family, we have had a very long-standing agreement not to exchange presents, which works very well for us all, though for many it wouldn't.
Enjoy your GF cake, and the brandy butter and other home-made edibles, both in the making and the eating!
Oh we like to exchange presents, even if they're very small and cheap. I can't imagine Christmas without presents to unwrap, however cheap and cheerful!
Mum & I agreed to buy each other tickets to see My Fair Lady at the theatre over Christmas, but buying for the rest of the family is a complete nightmare. I did manage to find books for Pa, Bro & Sil and some suitably teenage stuff for the Adorable Nieces (tm), but I'm really not in any kind of festive mood yet. I've only got 4.5 more days in teh office, so hopefully, I'll pick up after that.
I saw an email the other day that had "stocking fillers from only £30", which made me wonder who on earth spends so much that £30 is classed as a stocking filler.
I plan to make my cake tomorrow too - like you I never manage to do them months in advance (and if I did they'd get eaten! :)) and they always taste fine anyway.
How wonderful to see you posting again. I hope you have a lovely Christmas - bloomers or not!! My most expensive gift is €100 petrol voucher for my brother.
