Chickens on the grill

The first meat on the new smoker grill was the result of a ridiculous sale at our local market. We bought three whole chickens for a steal, and tried three different treatments - two dry rubs and a brine. What did you get for a new smoker? I've been just using my grill but I think It may be ready to step it up.

It's by a company called Char-Griller, a very basic sheet metal tube with a side-attached firebox. Both were on sale at Lowe's, for a pretty good discount. You have to buy the firebox as an extra, to get it configured as in my pic from my previous post. I have to say that it worked quite well, in spite of it being a flimsy and cheap option. Make sure you get a few oven thermometers to place across the grate, I was surprised at how much of a heat spike there is near the firebox.
