oh wow, this is great! I think you did great on the body proportions and stuff, the only thing that looks a little off to me is the left wing of the male griffin, I think it should be a bit further up on its back...but that´s just me, since well, it is a mythical creature ^^
I'm in awe! this is so detailed, with such bright, perfect colours! I wouldn't have guessed you used water colours. Acrylic, yes, for sure... it's a technique I don't master at all. It requires a real concentration and some very precise art techniques (at least I think so).
The third one is definitely my favourite. Well done. :))
I used watercolour for the majority of this, acrylic was only used to fix mistakes. :) I actually find watercolour very easy to use--but it's been my main medium for a few years now. (practice practice *laughs)
Oh, I see! that's a marvellous idea, I'll use it too, then! (once I find where my water colurs and acrylic are to be found). I practise a lot, but only with pencils. Quite a drawback for an artist, isn't it? ;)
You're welcome. If only you could post some more! your art is truly inspiring.
Arrgh, LJ totally stuffed up my reply. *fumes* Lucky I copied it:
*coughs* Pencil is *so* not a drawback. Some of the best things I've seen have been done with pencil.
And dude, totally track down those paints of yours. I'd love to see what you come up with!
I'm very flattered that you find my art inspiring. Like, insanely falttered. *boggles* And--I'm so looking forward to doing merpeople. (Like, it's going to be *so* big, mermaids and nixes and selkies! I really have to get started on it.) So uhm, hopefully it won't be too long before my next post. :)

And yeah, I had a little bit of trouble with the wing anatomy.
