He knew every flower by scent, and could be put to the test with a blindfold and naught but his nose to aid him. He knew all the sweet flowers, all the spicy flowers and all the poor unfortunate flowers with unpleasant scents. Sweet scents were what Finnian loved best

Finnian fidgeted nervously. He wasn't too good with other scents in general, but he hoped his memory would lend a hand. The boy was used to keeping mental tabs on which flowers grew where as well as scouting for new types of flowers in other gardens. He would keep all the knowledge in his head, as writing was too much of a bother for him
