SPN tonight, insta-reaction:

Leviathian!Real Estate lady was a hoot and a half. I got quite a few laughs at her over the top diva act. She forgot a very important thing, to not forget what's under the surface. Her assistant wasn't just an incompetant Nervous Nelly.

I loved the shift in his demeanor once he threw off the facade of timid assistant. There was something delightfully creepy about the actor's performance -- it made me feel just as unsettled and off-kilter as Dean and Sam did to what he was saying.

Sam and Dean better not forget what's under the surface.

Blood, blood and more blood.

I hope Frank is okay, but the signs are not promising.

Other random bits I enjoyed: Dean's inner ballet afficionado. Hey, it's okay to admit to liking a little classic culture, Dean. It doesn't make you any less badass. It's nice to see those hints at parts of Dean under the surface that are a contrast to the persona he projects so hard -- and for the most part has everyone buying.

And Sam, oh dear, Sam. I want to shake you hard and feed you some spiked milk and cookies. Medical facts alone present the case that the amount of sleep deprivation Sam is experiencing isn't going to help him keep a struggling grip on his sanity -- it WILL kill him, sooner than later. He's got to find a better coping mechanism, STAT. Also - NO MORE DRIVING FOR SAM. Not until he's got a better handle on things. It won't only get him killed, it could kill someone else. That bit where he drifted off behind the wheel and almost got into a head-on collision scared the crap out of me because it was a situation that was very real. It happens to real people in real life. Scarier than the monsters because of that.

The two Leviathans bickering over who was going to get to eat Sam and Dean? LMAO!!!

Final thing...

Finally a solid clue for Sam and Dean about what will kill a Leviathan and keep it dead. They finally learned about bibbing. There is still one problem, however. How do you make the monsters eat themselves/each other in a way that actually solves the bigger problem?

And what is under the surface of the Leviathan's intentions and agenda?

I am utterly stumped. (except for: see above. Don't forget what's under the surface. Blood, blood and more blood. I mean... very very sharp teeth hiding beneath the salesman/woman.) Trying to get a coherent grip on this episode is going to be tough, because it felt like the beginning of a shift, but... of what? Going where? Part 1 of ...???

Exactly.

Next week.... EEEEEEEEEKKK!!!! GIMME!!!!

Proper review coming later this weekend, if I can get a handle on this episode.
