Dear Robert, Simon, Porl and Jason (The Cure),

Thank you, thank you, a thousand times, thank you. That was seriously the best THREE HOURS I've had in... I don't even know. Seriously, that was arguably the best show that I have ever seen (and I've seen some good ones). Please delight me with your presence again very soon. I fucking love you all ( Read more... )

I totally agree. That was one of the best shows I've seen.

100 years, a forest, prayers for rain, Jumping on someone else's train. They even played Killing an Arab, I didn't see that coming

it was so damn good I totally forgave them for playing Hot Hot Hot :)

and they were really "on". They played amazingly well.

in the end it's a damn good show when you walk away and can only think of 2 or 3 songs you wish they played considering how much material they have.

I agree with both of you. The best thing me was how present and into it they were. There seemed to be some spontaneity and connection with the room that you don't always see at arena shows.

Absolutely. It was a huge crowd, and despite a lot of douchebags sitting for the entire show (I actually had to get up and move--and fortunately was never caught), they were very connected to the audience and were given good feedback as well (no pun intended). It was cool to see Robert come right out into the crowd like that. I also have to add that Porl was fucking tip-top last night and played perhaps the best guitar solo I've ever heard during "From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea".

They definitely were "on". They seriously kicked some ass out there. And yes, I can only think of two or three songs that they didn't play that I wanted to hear, but was pleasantly surprised by a lot of things I didn't think would get played. By my count, they covered ten albums out of thirteen (including the next one), two one-off songs from compilations and a B-side. Pretty amazing stuff.
