I refused to eat one from the shell, as I once broke out in a rash from getting the juices on me and I also feel kind of weird about it on principle. I've been getting less and less ok with meat in general. I love the taste, but the meat industry is so despicable, and all the hormones and cruelty - sometimes it just doesn't seem like that hamburger or lobster roll is worth the suffereing that goes into making it.

you just summed up PERFECTLY my same issues. I have the EXACT same issue. I cannot get lobster steamed or even have a whole one. One 4th of July my family decided to steam lobsters at home. I couldn't handle that they were alive in the fridge, and then being boiled to death. Then just sitting there with it on my plate, knowing it was alive 15 minutes prior, was just, it was like murder.

Few weeks back I thought of getting them steamed at the store, but couldn't stomach the thought of shopping while my dinner was being killed for me.

so in truth i made a vegetarian meal that night.
