hi! my name is nana, i've been a blackcigarette member for about three years, you just don't see me around much. i'm twenty, and currently living and studying in tokyo.

like a lot of the community members, i love photography; these are a few of my favorite things to take pictures of in tokyo.

what university would you apply to? i go to tuj, it's nothing amazing but okay for a semester or two ^^
(though i would love to go to moscow too~ i miss europe.)

I was thinking of going through CIEE and attending Sophia University.
I miss Europe too, I haven't been in over two years and it makes me sad. :(

most of these were shot with nikon d3000 + a manual focus 55mm f/1.4 lens
except these two which were taken with a AF 35mm f/1.8 lens

I love the way that you capture Tokyo. I lived in Japan for 10 months last year, my last 2 and a half months in Tokyo. I had a less than stellar time in Tokyo, I worked as a cocktail waitress in Roppongi and it was hard. But living in Japan was the most exciting time in my life so far.

oh i can imagine - i've never actually been to roppongi by night (not really my style) but i hear it can be really shady. i'm glad the rest of your stay in japan was good! what cities did you go to? (i've only been to kyoto and sapporo aside from tokyo)

I never went to Roppongi until I started working there. It is a horrible place, full of people wanting to take advantage of you. My job was underpaid and hard, working all night with little rest. But I did have some interesting experiences, and it helped pay the rent. I would never work that way again though.

I've been loads of places around Japan though. The first time I went was in 2006 and I went to Kagoshima, Hiroshima, Kobe and in 2010 I lived in Nagano, working at a ski resort for 3 months through winter, then touring through Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, before returning to Tokyo to live and work. I want to see Hokkaido the next time I go. Sapporo ♥!

My friends and I also have this insane idea of bike tripping around Shikoku and going to see the 88 temples. One day maybe.
