I don't usually care for video blogging...

But this hip-hop blog at www.illdoctrine.com (seriously! Me! Liking this!) about the Republican National Convention just made me happy. It's a response to Sarah Palin's snide jabs at Obama's experience as a Community Organizer - basically, she said "well, I was a mayor. And that's.. well, I guess that's a bit like being a community organizer. But with responsibilities."
It's an attack on Obama's resume - he has spoken at length on his grassroots work in Chicago -  which is meant to make Palin look like a 'proper' governor/politican, and him like an upstart, a newcomer, a busybody, jumble-sale fusser.
It's also been parsed at the ny times as an attack which plays on racial fears (Guilliani's reference to Obama as a "Street Organizer" - oh! he was rabble-rousing amongst black people!) and (as noticed at The Atlantic) it's been used to call Obama a governing dilletante. See that? See how the Democratic Candidate is  both a poor-folk-troublemaker and an elitist snob who's out of touch with Real Americans?
The GOP are really stooping, here. Of course they are ,they're politicians. But oh, my. They think the Obama campaign are out of touch?

Muchos love to bitchphd for the links, and some tasty discussion. Ding's post on Community Organizing in Chicago is fabulous.  Favourite moment from the comments section so far: "Jesus was a community organizer, and Pontius Pilate was a governor."
