Good and bad...

Good: Took my Graduate Record Exams this last week. For those who don't know these things, they are the standardized entrance exams for grad school, like the SATs. As a consequence, they are a good deal more difficult. Due to the glories of computer-based testing, I have unofficial scores already... Verbal was 660, which is perfectly respectible,

Good: WOOOHOOO!!!! YAY! Cool scores! Does this mean you're planning on coming to Duke?

Bad: ICKY!!! ICKY... I've got this icepick here... I could stab your knee and let all the water out if you like... (OK, so it's a bad idea. But it doesn't stop me from having it...)

Weeeel... I requested that Duke get my scores... and will apply to them among others. The rest is up to the department... I suspect I'll have a couple of glowing recomendations, so I'm not so worried. My scores were just a hair above average for admission... And the subject test is yet to come... Oh, and I need phone numbers! I have lost and have this trul wicked game idea and need people to talk to about it.

And... as for October's plans, it looks like I'm unlikely to make it out... money's just too tight. :(
