Just Waiting

Luke is officially “living with cancer.”  That’s a weird concept to me.  Can’t he just live with it forever?  I mean, I know he’d be in pain sometimes, but can’t he be like House and pop Vicodin all day?  I know the answer to this, of course.  Cancer doesn’t wait around, it either dies, or you do.  But when we’re watching a movie, or having a ( Read more... )

Gah! Why am I always at work, or on a bus when I read these? Totally crying. Don't take that in a bad way, just...your love and pain (and writing, as always) affects me.

The needles in the back thing...I was told, when they did that to me (although to a much lesser degree, of course) that you have to be awake because despite the local, if a needle goes awry you will feel an intense pain & they need to know that because it means it's hitting something that will cause long term, severe headaches. Don't need that!

Can I ask, since you have mentioned the "we're still poly" thing, how is his relationship w his girlfriend? Curious for a number of reasons relating to what you've said about love/your relationship & the illness in general. If it's too personal I apologize.

I had ZERO dollars and possibly 11cents and I was fully aware of the benefit & fretting over it but was not going to turn up empty handed. I knew you guys would have a full house overflowing with love anyway. <3 I'm so glad it went so well ( ... )

"if a needle goes awry you will feel an intense pain & they need to know that because it means it's hitting something that will cause long term, severe headaches" - god, or other organs! Ok, I hadn't thought of that, so I guess that's "good." :)

As far as his girlfriend goes, they are still togther, but things have definitely gone to more of a "friend support" thing. I mean, they're still seeing each other in a romantic capacity, but things had to be prioritized. Her place right now is as support for Luke and I, if that makes sense.

Don't worry about the benefit, there were a ton of people there. And I know you support us.
