[Thanks to the current weirdness in Luceti messing around with death, one particular demon who died two days ago gets to return early ( Read more... )

[It's been a long, draining week but it's early enough in the day that Kain is once more ready for a fight. He's pretty much expecting it at this rate. But instead of finding an Eidolon... he comes across the one he hates most of all.]

[Last time he faced Yuber, he was in a much different mindset. This time, Kain wants nothing more than a chance at revenge. He can never resist a chance to fight the demon, as it is. So he charges at him, spear aimed to strike, not giving so much as a warning that he's attacking.]

[Seeing Kain, Yuber knows very well what the idiot will try and do, and to be honest, at this point, he relishes the chance to kill the man yet again. He's absolutely infuriated still that someone was able to kill him and this will show that even without teleportation a demon is still incredibly dangerous.

He moves to draw his swords, but they don't appear. Momentarily stunned by this, Yuber just barely makes it out of the way of Kain's spear.]

[Right away, Kain's surprised. He's used to that infuriating teleportation that makes the demon such a pain to even hit. That, and the lack of any weapons is... unexpected. Is something wrong here? Or is this Yuber's new strategy to throw him off?]

[Not willing to trust this quite yet, Kain keeps his guard up. But he takes advantage of keeping on the offensive while he can. He swings the spear in a slashing motion at Yuber again, following that up with a few quick thrusts.]

[If the demon had a choice his sword would be in Kain's chest right now. Not like he can help the fact that it appears like he has three death penalties.

Make that four, because the demon tries to threaten Kain, and no words come out. Well, that's just great, because it means magic won't work either, and it's even more insulting because it's yet another similarity he has to someone completely pathetic.

Well, at least Yuber's speed and ability to dodge appears unaffected for now, he's going to jump out of the way and try and consider a good way to run like hell.]

[Once Yuber reaches the apartment eventually, he'll probably notice that it's oddly... empty. While all of the furniture is still there, ν-13 is... suspiciously absent. There's no signs of her anywhere in the apartment, and not even the cats are there. If it weren't for the fact that the Murakumo's own room is still furnished, it'd almost seem as if she never stayed there to begin with.

It won't be until much later - around 10pm, to be specific - that she'll finally, finally make her way to the apartment. After having been locked up in the tunnels for a to her still indeterminable amount of time, she's not really that comfortable with the idea of staying indoors... or actually risking running into someone who might try to lock her up again on her way back to the apartment. That's honestly the last thing she needs right now.]

[And the demon was indeed quiet worried to come back and find no annoying cats and no Nu. The lack of his roommate is worrisome, but it's not like he can go looking right now. Without teleportation, too much risk of running into more annoying humans and he was already embarrassed enough by his earlier run-in with a certain dragoon.

He's lying on the couch in the main room trying to decide if he should go try and find her now that most of the humans are asleep. The monsters he can deal with. But no teleportation means no going and checking the lakes and rivers without running into something.

So she'll come in and find a very distracted looking demon.]

[When she finally does return, she's trying to make as little noise as possible - she'd really rather not risk attracting the attention of anyone else in the building if she can avoid it. He'll likely still be able to hear the apartment door opening, however.

No cats coming to greet her in sight anywhere... Tsubaki did what ν-13 had asked her to, then. At least that means they're likely fine, then... though she does admittedly miss them already. Maybe she'll ask Tsubaki to bring them back tomorro-

-Before she has a chance to continue that thought train, she notices a certain familiar demon lying on the couch.

And simply freezes up.

...Please stand by for a moment, she's... honestly not sure what to say or do right now.]

[He doesn't blame her. How does one react to someone coming back from the dead? It sure was the last thing he had ever expected to have happen really.

He stands up. Since he can't talk and say how sorry he is and how much he missed her, he only can hope to express it nonverbally for now since he found out earlier that he's unable to speak and he knows how atrocious his writing is. So instead he's going to walk towards her, and put a single arm around her and pull her close to him.]
