I would never have even heard of this if not for this LJ entry.
I personally don't care. Though LJ obviously handled this horribly and did absolutely no actual research into the journals/communities they were arbitrarily deleting, and then not saying anything to the actual LJ community until now. Of course, the worst part was listening to batshit insane activist groups in the first place. But will I do anything like stop using LJ or even using one of those silly avatars? No. I don't care. I'm just bored at work (never have much to do in the morning) and reading all that crap was entertaining.
That's pretty much where I stand. Though I like the silly avatar, some others are pretty smartassed, but I didn't feel like deleting more than one of my avatars for this. It also kept me occupied through a dull and boring afternoon at work.
I expect I'll be switching back avatars in less than a week if I can remember.

Seriously, some people are so antsy. Not sure where you stand with that avatar - aren't most places online "delete first, ask questions later"?
