..the closest thing to perfect but the farthest thing from me

I've been getting depressed over nothing again lately. I changed a lot over the past two years; I thought it was for the better, and in some ways it was, but now I realize there were also some bad things about it. There's always something wrong. I am sorry for your situation and wish there were something I were able to say that might help. The only thing I can say is you are no different than anyone else. Despite the indecision and discomfort, that is what the experience of life boils down to. The divine comedy of Pan.

Good luck though. :) If the person you are referring to likes you, he will stick around for you to go through what you need to go through.

Maybe you could find ways to bring out his fun side. Everyone has one. It is a LOT easier to find someone who really understands this stuff and teach them how to be silly and have fun than it is to teach someone who never, ever cares about these issues to care about them.

Balance is important. A lot of people swing back and forth like a pendulum until they learn to integrate the side of themselves that needs to have fun and enjoy life with the part of themselves that wants to learn and reach for more and more. The key is remembering that whatever mood you're in now will not last forever.

I can relate, hands down, to just about everything you're saying. The acting your age thing? Definatly. Anyhow, as much as I'd like to advise and asist, I'm in the same situation, but I'll give you the advice that a friend of mine gave me once, maybe it'll help: You don't need to compromise either side of yourself to both have fun and be smart. Some friendships are deep meaningful ones where you discuss Poe over candle light and try to solve the problems of the nation, and others involve discussing Sponge Bob over Coke and Rum; they're both good and they're both necessairy, it's just a matter of accepting it. Besides, I'm willing to bet that there's a 'Fun' you just under your skin, begging to break free. You've just gotta' let go. Let the motto of the moment be "Fuck it." As for the boy: You neeed to tell him how you feel. He has a right to know, I think. Besides, it's not like he's going to move away and never talk to you again. There's always the future and if he genuinly cares for you that's not going to change ( ... )
