All I have is my love of love... fascinating quotation. I wonder where it's from. It's something I've wondered about, from time to time. Whether we enjoy being in love or falling in love, whether we fall in love with people or if we fall in love with being in love. A bit circular, perhaps, but still fascinating. Sometimes, it seems like I enjoy falling in love more than I enjoy being in love. Being in love is hard, a sustained effort. Falling in love is easy, it's just falling. Of course, people tend to land after they fall, and I'm given to understand that the landing can be a bit rough if it isn't landing into a relationship... or, at least something soft, like a bed. But to really love falling in love, you have to allow yourself to. You have to remove your safety nets and whatnot. You have to willfully lose control of yourself. Much the opposite of being in love, it seems to me. When you love being in love, you have to love the struggle, the constant opposition to yourself. Compromise means not necessarily getting what you want, so ( ... )
