Well, it seems the problem wasn't that we had air bubbles. The problem was that there was a serious miscommunication and, despite my having said we needed the head gasket replace and that it was leaking carbon monoxide into the cooling system, the shop didn't include that into the estimate when talking to us, and, as a result, didn't do that work ( Read more... )

Let me warn you now about such fixes if they haven't already - the very next time anything goes wrong with the cooling system your car will. be. dead. This sounds like a much better version of the usual cheapie stop-leak stuff you can get at most auto parts stores, but I'll bet the consequences of using it are the same.

So, I'm praying for it to work spectacularly - ya'll could do with much less trouble on this front. But start planning to buy a car this year.

I appreciate your concern, but checking over their site, it looks like I was wrong about it using fillers. Check out the section on how it works to see why I don't think we need to worry about this being the death knell of our van.

That's standard marketing hype. While I recognize that this is likely superior I stand by my original comment. I fear that no one will ever be able to open up that engine block again without triggering major component replacement, like the head itself, not just a gasket.

Still, one of the standard concerns is alleviated in it. They say this is a permanent fix. If it gets you another 30K miles without recurrence of that failure, it can be considered to have delivered on the promise. Luck to you.
