Due to the press of prep for Pantheacon, we're giving our hostess a break this month and will not hold our S.F. Bay Area Ogam study group until February. Sorry for the short notice.
Ogam Class in Vancouvermael_brigdeFebruary 28 2009, 03:02:45 UTC
Hi, Blackfyr.
Erynn suggested that I check with Lysana (who pointed me to you) to see how you structured your ogam class. I'm hoping to run a study group next Samhain to Imbolc at a local store (Vancouver, BC) using her book. I will be learning along with everyone else. (Or along with The Other Person, depending how the signup goes.)
My thought was to go through the book and select elements of each chapter that I can structure a lesson plan around, and have everyone read the chapters as we go, in addition to my giving summaries of the pertinent parts. Then we could create the feda and work with them together in the class. Clearly that plan needs a lot of filling out. If you have any tips, I would love to hear them.

First, my apologies for how long it's taken me to get back to you. I'm in the midst of a depression and we're trying to get my meds adjusted to handle it, but it's a delicate process. As a result, my motivations have been rather low to get some things done and your note got caught in the midst of that. That said, we spent a couple of sessions going over what CR was and what we knew the Ogam was and wasn't and how the linguistic differences affected our understandings of what we were doing. Then we started working on the ogam, one to two per session, depending on questions and information..
Your plan sounds like a good one, though you may find it a bit rushed. But it sounds like a good first step
