Which doth insure best grade of cheese...

Tonight I introduced my dad to the poetry of Canadian James McIntyre, the Chaucer of Cheese. Now, in my opinion, "Prophecy of a Ten Ton Cheese" is right up there with Reverend King's "I Have a Dream" as an optimistic vision of future times, but for those unfamiliar with Mr. McIntyre, this one's quite a good introduction to his work:

Ode on the Mammoth Cheese )

To us it is a glorious theme
To sing of milk and curds and cream,
Were it collected it could float
On its bosom, small steam boat,
Cows numerous as swarm of bees
Are milked in Oxford to make cheese.

So beautiful. So moving. *sniffle*

(And he seems very fond of comparing cows and bees. Maybe there's some relation between them that I was unaware of...)

Or more likely, bees rhymes with cheese. It's why English speakers associate doves and gloves with love.
