Global Domination!
I am contemplating trying a play by post game (not RP) on LJ. If you might be interested or even just curious about what I am planning… click the LJ cut below.
DO YOU WANT TO RULE THE WORLD?
The name of the game will be Global Domination, and will be based off of the Mega-Supremacy board game.
The game will be for 4-8 players. If you are interested please comment below. Once I have at least 4 players I will go ahead and get the game set up. It will be on a first come basis so please only sign up if you can really commit.
Each game turn will be a week - with new turn info being posted by midnight on Monday and player responses required by midnight Friday. The turn results will then be resolved by me over the weekend. The game will then run for 26 turns.
If there is enough interest, I may try multiple games running at the same time - that will really depend on how crazy I am feeling though.
The goal of the game is to dominate the world though one of three various means:
Economic - Bankrupt the other nations.
Military - Elimination of all other nations (though be warned… if too many nukes go flying then no one wins).
Diplomatic - Being the strongest nation at the end of turn 26.
The game will use a “blind move” turn. In other words, players will not know what the other players are doing until after the turn is resolved and sometimes not even then.
Each turn there will be two public posts. The current World Map which shows who controls what territories and where enemy troops are; and the News post which will have the major game effecting headlines and current World Market Prices for resources.
There will also be a private post for each player that will tell them the state of their nation. It will be to this post that players will reply with what they are having their nation do for that turn. Options will be many and varied.
Finally there may also be a post of any treaty negotiations going one between nations. This will be viewable only by the nations involved in the negotiations.
While I will be using the rules for Mega-Supremacy for the framework for this game there are several points of deviation from those rules that will only be found in this game.
I am posting here before I mention it in any of the gamer communities because I want to allow the friends on my LJ a chance to play first. And trust me, if you are seeing this post you are on my friends list and are invited. Once the game is going, anyone will be allowed to watch the game, though only the map and news will let people know what’s going on.
