It's getting bad when the wife wants a CCW

So my wife of 20 years came to me a few weeks ago and said "I think I should get a pistol permit". While she not hostile towards guns, she also has never shown any interest in carrying. Blackhawk, the gun looks half as big as her :^).

I had a similar experience as yours with my sister recently. I brought my PLR-16 home to show my parent's, mostly because my mom is anti-gun and I like to have a bit of fun with her. My sister picked it up and with obvious tension in her shoulders said, "This is excessive"! I laughed and now use that phrase whenever I go to the range and see someone with a really big gun or some really evil black thing - "DooD, that's really excessive" :^).

Anyhow, now my sister actually has said that she was thinking of getting a pistol for self protection since she fears she may not be able to now that Obama is in office. HA!, didn't see that coming :^)! I guess I'll have to talk to her now and give her some good advice on what to get :^).

We all had the chance to shoot at least 10 rounds in each of at least 1o different guns...from a .22 to a .45 and then some. I discovered I really liked the Glock 23. I wasn't planning on buying a gun or carrying, but I now own a Glock 19 - less recoil and cheaper ammo - and am working on marksmanship qualifications. I am loving it but without the thorough instruction I received from Alan Laidlaw, www.pistolprotectionplus.com, I honestly don't think I'd be in this place right now. He is also involved in a youth shooting program through High Rock Shooting Association so you know he is a very patient instructor. He ( ... )
