There seems to be so much chaos and conflict in the world today. Really there always was but it now seems that there is a reason for America to get off it's ass and...pay attention, most of the time. Honestly, I get why people are indignant and in a rage about the state of affairs but doing nothing about it. It's not that we don't want to, people in this country want to effect a change in the world for the better and they certainly want to feel like they can do it in their own country
It's just that no one has disturbed their shit properly. Now I don't know about you but as someone who has had a history lesson or two thanks to the wonders of American Public Education System, I've just read about the way governments, wars and propaganda's are run. And basically the most important lesson to learn from all of it, and I mean damn near one of the most crucial lessons I've learned in my life, is that you should'nt take for granted it won't happen to you. And by it, I mean anything and everything you thought would never, ever, happen.
Now if you think about it, there's a couple of things that will most likely never happen to you; a supermodel three-way, winning the lottery, getting in a plane crash. But what we have to realize is that when it comes to the big things, like America acting like some of the characters not so well liked in the history books( nudge, nudge, wink, nazi, communists, terrorists, wink) , we are certainly capable of it. And in fact cite those shady folks as the reason for it. Now not to beat a dead horse into a whipped french delicacy but it seems that the moral right who grew up on the teachings of a man that said, and I paraphrase, "don't judge others without judging yourself first," seems to be hypocritical and logically flawed. Now I don't know about you but the idea of logically unsound lawmakers seems to be an oxymoron too complex for me to find the humor in. (Not really, but it still turns out to be a crummy joke) And just blunt enough to be insulted by.
Ultimately my point is that we seem to be run by people who, progressively, are leaning further to the Right with less compromise to the Left, and while a buzz kill, compromise has been a tool through which both sides half-assedly represented their constituents...special interest. I mean the American public; but especially special interest. And without that we, the people, have no voice. Especially not the 130 million represented by many left out of current governmental trend, which only pass bills by two or three votes instead of a nearly unanimous one. And that is the point, in a greater sense, we as Americans, ostensibly, had no real great impact on the ideas of government. Somewhere along the line there's a filter which takes out all the piss and vinegar behind a bill and converts it into an intellectual debate that is heavily influenced by special interest and wealth and advanced on the basis of whether the measure will A) Benefit political parties by barely appeasing the need of the public to the degree of quieting the the clamor thus ensuring re-election or B) Create wealth or generally benefit a corporation wealthy enough to hire a powerful team of lobbyists. Man, this is such a fucking suburban rant.
Fuck it, I don't know why people are'nt rioting in the streets! Gas is higher than post-op tranny, Our own national forces have shown a somewhat lackluster ability to come promptly to the aid of it's own people and for the past two years we have been fighting a War based on no other reason than our president wanted oil or control, preferably both, from Iraq.
The question is, who is going to be held accountable?
