I don't say this often, out of some attempt at modesty, but thanks, you guys. Seriously. I like putting a lot of work into a post and getting much love back.

I can see several reasons for poking at someone's weight. For one, it's a very easy comment to make. If you're looking for an undesirable trait to harp on, there's one. Secondly, being fat is seen is having no self-control. I do see that around town here a lot, so I can see why there's the negative connotation. I realize that a lot of people are fat due to various diseases and whatnot, but you also have the fat and whiny hambeasts who take up the scooters at Wal-Mart and expect sympathy because they're fat.

Besides, when you're talking about a douchebag like Rush Limbaugh, people are going to pile on all the negative qualities they find. And when the article talks about excesses, clearly the author sees Limbaugh's weight as one, as do many other people.

Not that it makes it right or anything. I just see where people are coming from.
