The best solution to that is to both agree to get tested when he comes back, and make the agreement before he leaves, and on the note that neither of you think the other will cheat/etc.

I really hope you get the job, and I know how much distance can suck in a relationship. Longest I've been without Andrew was about 5 weeks, but it seemed so much longer because we're ridiculously attached at the hip.

thanks yeah i dont think we will just do our own thing its just something i guess were talking about since he is going to be gone for a year and in reality thats not good for a relationship

Even if you plan on staying together it's always a good idea to get tested. I get tested too, and lord knows Andrew & I have been together forever. If you make it a regular thing it doesn't seem like you don't "trust" the other person. That, and I figure while they're down there doing their pap thing they might as well.

Just be thankful that you don't have to do paps. Ick. Either way, I'm rooting for you and your happiness!
