I...don't know...what to say...I love the writing, the imagery, and what I thought was a nice 'happy ending' kind of story...but I'm not sure what I got at the end...

I'm not entirely sure myself, but I've gotten to the point where I just give up editing these guys anymore. :) I wrote down what I saw them do and say in the few minutes that I had, and based on what Hannah said later (since it was for her) I guess it hit the mark, so I'm good with it.

Maybe ultimately what they were trying to say is that you never really get to retire from this job and in their case you never really get to die either, as long as one of them keeps begging the other to come back. It will only end when they both decide at the same time, you know, it's about being together, no matter what. And whatever that is - gone fishing or back in the saddle again - that could change on any given day, as long as it's still together.
