Men are just harder.

Its so easy to paint women. More colour, more accessories, more room to exaggerate. I find the men I draw become way to feminine looking, or really ugly. Its just so easy to draw young and beautiful ladies. Plus I can always look in the mirror to figure out how things should look.

But I forced myself, and here he is...

i like him... and i like that he is a bit fem. i find men that have some fem qualities to be very intriquing....some are downright sexy....

and yes.... they are harder to paint/draw.

Yeah I noticed from far away he looks more evil. Its the light eyes when everything is so dark I guess. A little evil never hurts...

I like it a lot, one can really see the small evolutionary steps that result from pushing ourselves into new directions. And he's not unmasculine at all, just not all butch and bear-y.

If I were to commission a portrait of myself, I would be thrilled if it came out like this.
