[It's probably been a while since the network heard from this guy. It's safe to say he's been preoccupied - between being lightly obsessed with Tetris, the Halloween possession thing happening (which actually affected him more than he cares to admit), the train hijacking and those three days ... he's had a lot to think about. And, in truth, still

It really is lovely, isn't it?

The very definition.
[He leans lightly against the closest tree, angling himself a touch so he can better face her in the process.]
And yet it doesn't even begin to cover it.

It seems like there's always so much going on, it's hard to remember to just stop and look every once in a while.
[ She looks out over the lake, angling her head as if she expects to hear something. She clearly doesn't because she lets out a small sigh. ]
I'm not disturbing you, am I?

[Few things can, this morning. He notices her little motion, though, and tilts his head slightly in a curious manner. The question is conversational.]
Waiting for someone?

[Heather Mason doesn't notice ANY of that.]
[She's too busy packing snow into a perfectly-sculpted sphere. And looking for a target.]
[A man who is entirely too focused on exploring the zoom function on his PokeGear?]
[Perfect target.]
[And Heather spends entirely too little time debating whether or not she should take advantage of that target.]
[Please enjoy a snowball to the back, Cooper. It couldn't possibly have come from that figure off in the distance who is clearly minding its own business.]

[He had most definitely not seen that snowball coming so he's startled when it hits him, grip tightening around the gear when he whirls around, all kinds of instincts kicking in - he's been shot at too many times to not have that kind of reaction.]
[... but he relaxes fairly quickly when he spots a distinctly Heathery figure and rather quickly gets rid of the ALARM MODE to realize that hey, there's snow everywhere. Snowballs are a thing.]
[He pockets the gear and looks back to the Hoothoot in the tree - it didn't wake, so he steps away from it in case other snowballs will come his way. Ever mindful of what's around him, because he is that kind of guy.]
[Now ... the girl is too far away to directly communicate with, but he will attempt to get his message across by raising an arm high, hand in the stop sign, because he didn't come here for a snowball fight. (At least not yet. :I)]

[In a deliberate misinterpretation of his gesture, Heather just turns and waves. MORNIN' COOP.]

[And guess what, he'll wave back. MORNIN', HIS FAVOURITE DELINQUENT.]

What a marvelous place! Did you have a good Christmas?

One of the best. How were things on your end?

[Jack pulls the 'gear away just enough to show Cooper his signature bowtie...looking tacky as ever with that windsuit of his.]

[It's the Bookhouse Boys badge Harry gave him what feels like ages ago.]
Yeah. This was a gift from a friend. Whatever Santa reigns over Johto sure has us pegged, doesn't he?
Reply
Decidedly jealous, Cooper-san.

You sound it, Yagyuu. Rough week?

Lady decided she wanted a family for Christmas, and obliged me six times over.

[It's teasing, really, but kindly so. He knows little ones can be a handful - Eevees are definitely no exception in his experience.]

You can never be sure though so he approaches slowly, announcing himself.]
Photography a hobby of yours?
[The baby Eevee certainly remembers you, because now it's bigger and butting your shin for attention.]
Reply
Not really. But it seemed like an image worth sharing.
Reply
Certainly. This world can be quite eye catching, when it's native creatures are feeling non-hostile.

[Cities are good like that. He taps the Eevee lightly on the nose when she nips at his fingertips in a playful reprimand.]
