I've read in plenty of articles that women have not known they are pregnant. I guess we'll never know what that's like. I don't think it's all that far fetched because it's happened before.
I also don't think that I've picked a 'side' based on zero evidence. I've known her for a few good years now and I honestly cannot believe that she killed the child with intent, but we all can't live on good intentions. I think she's innocent in the sense that her actions were based on fear and shock more than anything else, not intent to murder someone. I think that second degree murder is a little harsh. Manslaughter is more reasonable I think.
It's easy to pass judgment when the situation is happening to someone else, not to say that I've been there but I'd like to think that compassion overrules the pompous stance you've taken based on one article and know prior knowledge of this person.
So I suppose your choice in 'side' could be taken in poor taste as well. It's just a matter of perspective.

I feel pretty strongly. I don't know the whole story but I know that this girl needs some fucking support, if nothing else.
Whatever.

i just think picking her side based on zero evidence because you knew her in high school is in poor taste when you look at what's presented
i'm sure she's going through a rough time but irresponsible people generally do
