What a rash of marriage announcements we have seen lately! I am quite puzzled by their overwrought sentiments, especially as such sentiments seem not to be shared by the ones involved.

I fret and fret and fret, for I have not had word from my son in quite some time. I wonder if that dreadful beast is confiscating his letters, or preventing him from reaching out to me. This seperation drives me mad, for my son is all that I have left from my years as a Malfoy.

When I rose today, there was a change in the air. I am not quite certain what it means, or even where it comes from. Something is different, however.

I am dreadfully behind on my letters. There is no excuse, truly, for such laxity. Tonight I shall devote myself to all of these unanswered missives that crowd my desk.
