Opinion from someone who is a) heavily biased against casual use of mood-altering medication; b) thinks ADHD is overdiagnosed; c) leans, nonetheless, toward being okay with carefully managed drugs-for-enhancement purposes:
Ritalin over Adderall. I mean, if you're taking it to specifically study, rather than to deal with a pervasive concentration issue. It has a shorter half-life.
Thanks, Anna--that's what I've been hearing on the internet, too. I don't intend to take it every day; it's not to control my mood/attention on the large scale, but rather to stop me from being an inefficient studier/worker.
I agree about ADHD being overdiagnosed, and certainly over-medicated. I struggled with the decision for a few years before even bringing it up to my physician--it's just that I know what my efficiency's like, and facing this volume of work I need to focus more.

Yeah, I've heard the same. I have a super-low dose (10mg), and I don't plan to take it regularly.
