I always noticed that people add themselves on their LJs.

...

Why is that? xD Is it worth the extra clutter on your friends list, or is it just for the boldish look of our own usernames on another friend's profile?

I _think_ your own journal is amongst those that are automatically added when you open an account.

Actually LJ never added my own journal to me. Not when I first made it back in 2003, and definitely not in any time before I added it today. :P

None of my accounts have ever auto-added themselves. I've added all my alternate accounts as friends, but I don't much see the point of adding my main, so I simply haven't bothered. :p

I never added myself to my list. xD Actually I read somewhere (I think on the faqs page) that doing so enables some certain feature, but I forgot what and I never needed that feature anyway.
