Why Black Veil Brides is Fucking Amazing
Well, if you follow me on any other social networks because you're a stalker like that, you'll know that I love Black Veil Brides....
Now, onto the many things that make them an amazing band :D
I've been listening to BVB for almost 3 years now, and of course, the first song I heard by them was Knives and Pens. The first thing that came into my mind after the video..."That lead singer is FUCKING HOT!" In 8th grade, I moved on to other bands and I went through the "Morrissey and The Cure phase", where the only thing I'd listen to was Morrissey and The Cure. This went on for almost 4 months XD
In 9th grade, I was looking through my Favorites on YouTube, and came across "Knives and Pens". Upon watching it again, I went and learned the words to the whole "Sex and Hollywood" EP. I learned everyone's names in 10 minutes and looked around for tour dates, to no avail (I was checking in the wrong places XP).
In February, though, I was on the magnificently interesting world that is Twitter, and received a tweet from Andy Six. "New Tour Dates! Check Them Out!" and a link. I followed the link onto their MySpace page and almost dropped dead...THEY WERE COMING TO SAN BERNARDINO! I texted Jacky and Kali and begged my dad to give us a ride. The show fell through, and it was rescheduled to Hollywood's Whisky A Go Go. I'd been there once before to see Get Scared in October 2009. (Note: I'm not a huge fan of the Whisky, the security is rather rude sometimes and they don't allow video.)
So, me, Kali, Jacky and my dad piled into my dad's care after school on March 17th and drove to Hollywood! It was amazing. Funny story, we were about to go park, when I looked out the window and saw Andy standing on the sidewalk talking to some chick. I screamed, "OH MY GOD! IT'S ANDY SIX!" at the top of my lungs and he looked in our direction, confused.
After standing in line, meeting two cool BVB fans from the area, and taking pictures with Sandra, we were allowed in. We saw some pretty amazing bands play, and then the moment we were all waiting for came: BLACK VEIL BRIDES. Andy was at the top of the stairs and someone screamed, "ANDY!" The crowd of mostly girls screamed and threw their hands up at him (myself and my friends included) like he was some kind of Gothic glam god in leather and crucifixes. He passed right in front of me and held my hand in his gloved one for a good while, before moving on to the rest of the fans.
The show started in an awesome blaze of lights, curtains, and fog machines. They started playing and the crowd went wild. It was probably one of the most amazing shows I've ever been too [and I got a 10 second video of Knives and Pens ;) ] I ran upstairs with Jacky to get posters signed by BVB, and upon meeting Andy Six and striking conversation, I took a picture with him. I cried when I got home, realizing I'd cut off a piece of his beautiful-ness! (Which is why I'm gonna see them in July).
All in all, here's why BVB is awesome
x The connection with their fans is great, and they're all really nice
x I love the theatricality they put into every show
x The leather jackets = <3
x They've got the look that goes perfectly with the music
x The sound is great live
x THEY'RE ALL HOT
