These three entires are the most depressing and jaded stories I've seen you write so far. Props for the tie-ins to psychology as well (and I hate psychology normally).

I've been pondering something the past few days: the most successful and hard hitting stories are (mostly) true and extremely personal to the writer. It seems almost like writing style and talent has little to do with it, that simply being true and personal gives it a power and a presence that "true fiction" doesn't have. Thoughts?

I would suppose. I mean, the writer probably feels like they're pouring their soul into their work, and knows--or doesn't know, and has to explain in another way--just the right words and expressions for what the character or they are feeling. Word combinations just pop into place and sound perfect.

This is somewhat from experience; I don't think I've gone far enough to write something quite as personal as what I just explained.

id have to agree... but thats just because i dont really write stories i just write journal entries and give myself differant names... its why my stories follow no actual plot line--- also probably why i'll fail this final which was writing a short story but maybe i fooled him.... maybe.

heh, and i was trying to get out of that depressing emo catagory, oh well, tis what i do best.
