Hi! Sorry to barge into your journal but I noticed that on the hephaistionfans site you mentioned reading a book, "The Lion of Macedonia"? Could you tell me a little more about it? I've never heard of it before. What period in Alexander's life does it deal with and does it mention Hephaiston and more importantly does it portray him as he was ie Alexander's lover? I'm always on the hunt for new Alexander fiction and there's precious little after Renault and Tarr that are worth a darn. Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi it's no problem for me, as you can see the journal is a little dead to say the least!!!! As for the "the lion of Macedonia", it's a book written by John Mac Leod, he's first book I think, and deals with the childhood of Alexander from his birth to his departure to Persia.... Hephaestion is clearly written as Alexander's lover in it; even if he is not always present, his importance is not diminished.... The book is easily read even by a non-english like me and a good entertainment.
i hope that I give you a fancy for reading this book for it's worth it and not very known
