This may not be a popular opinion, but it's now widely accepted that homosexuality is something that you are born with, isn't something to be cured, and isn't a lifestyle choice. actually, there is mounting evidence that peadophilia IS born in and for the most part not curable. the difference is, that homosexuality is, in most cases, between consenting adults, jsut as it is with baseline heterosexuality.

Absolutely, which is pretty much my standpoint on the issue. I mostly wanted to pick on the whole reform and stigmatism issues, though if someone is going to act on the urges, then it's better for them and society if they are somewhere they don't have the opportunity. It's just too bad that is the one place their lives are likely to be in the most danger (as would be the same for any rapist). I don't believe at the moment that we have any workable systems for people who would wish to seek help for their condition. Ultimately, it may be their fault if they wish to act on impulses, but the offer of nothing but aversion therapy to 'cure' the root cause can't be the most helpful solution.
