So called 'grand' national death toll

I haven't heard of any fatalities in the actual 'grand' national steeplechase today, but will update if any are reported- or if there have been any fatalities in other races at Aintree today (Saturday 10th April ( Read more... )

I didn't see it, but then I hardly pay any attention to horse racing. I am sorry to hear though that these horses had to go in this year's tournament.

The thing that gets me on top of all this, not to lessen the others loss, is that the horse that broke its leg could have been saved!
Tho theyll say its not a viable thing as itll never race again is terrible & sickens me *|
Some have & even if it can it could have lived out its life at a sanctuary or something similar Im sure, so that IMO is not a fair reason for putting an animal to sleep :|
We dont do it with a human life, even if it cannot be a constructive citizen after something as major as this, so why a horse :(
Needless in all respects, sickening that there is a price of an animals life in ginneas & as said above a sad thing for the sport & all who have loved, cared & trained them X|
