Since we are all doing it, here are my political views on the events of the last few days. There will be no more politics from this horse after this- I'm finished with it, and intend to do all I can to isolate myself and those I care for from the ramifications *Hatches to Battened-Down Mode ( Read more... )

Pretty much agree with you. The Tories have already said that the North-East is due a good kicking (due to their cull of civil service jobs) and there is a clear North/South divide for a reason (which encompasses their one MP in Scotland situation too).

You put my views far more succicntly than I. I have just rambled on my LJ.

I'm pretty much in agreement with you. And I think the Conservatives have already broken promises made during their election campaign, just because it suited them to do so to grab power.

To me the varnish of the Tories being any different to what they used to be (i.e. sleaze) is long gone and they are struggaling not to show their true colours.

I hope electoral reform does come because my vote counted for nothing in the Stevenage constituancy, which swung to conservative, which means on a nationwide level my voice was completely unheard.

I've been done with politics for a while, but thought it important to vote in this election. (and am deeply disappointed with those that didn't) My vote, and the vote of those who didn't win in their consituancy was wasted.

I guess things could have been worse. THe Tories could have won a majority and had free reign. We'll need to see what will happen. I don't hold out much hope.

Would be too much to ask for a breakdown for us non-UK readers?

The existence of a powerful Scottish parliament will make it a lot harder for Scotland to be kicked in the tits like it was in the 80s. But they will be looking for a new victim. I'd not want to live in the North or South West of England right now.
