We're bracing ourselves for a punishment beating here, despite assurances that the NHS is ringfenced. Ultimately though, if the debt is as bad as they say it is, we do have little choice. Except perhaps to delay the inevitable. If the actual debt is being talked up howevever, and is not as bad as they are letting on, we could probably still use a bit of trimming here and there. And this comes from soneone who works for the public sector
