Tuesday

So, apparently I need a First Half Of 2008 Update. I'm waiting for my bright blue nailpolish to dry, and I have nothing else to do anyway. My puppy is small, but huge compared to when we brought him home. His name is Cosmo, but I call him Kazi and you should too when speaking to me about him. I got a green parakeet named Clover towards the start of the year. I went to Israel in May and it was fucking amazing; Hands down the best 10 days of my entire life. I did so much, took over 3,000 pictures, made new friends; It was so fun and for once I didn't feel homesick at all and it put thoughts of traveling the world for the rest of my life into my head. Yesterday I had lunch with my group leader; Ben C. on my lunch break, so that was pretty cool. In July I'm going to New Orleans for a weekend to visit Brett and I'm looking forward to it. I got a haircut today; A lot shorter than it's been in a while, and re-dyed the inside burgundy wine again. I've got a huge to do list I've been a bit slow about. I finished bartending school in February/March and have got to practice, go to bar night, finish my resume and start looking for a job so I can move out. Things have still been going well at Staples, too. We're collecting $1 cancer research donations from customers over the next couple of months and I've been getting a lot. I bought a new macro lens for my Nikon d80 which is pretty cool, but I've still got to get a lot of practice with that camera in. I brought back my photography MySpace (modified again) which you should add if you haven't already...myspace.com/jilltakespictures and put up a bunch of pictures from Israel. I bought a new computer chair; It's big and comfortable and I'm getting used to it. Lately I've been listening to Sublime, but before that I spent a month or so on The Kooks and a month or so on The Beatles. I'm trying to spend a decent amount on a different band every few weeks or so. It's been going well. I went to see The Kooks, which turned out to be a fun and very long night.

Things have been pretty alright. My whole "love doesn't exist" idea and new (as of November) outlook on life has been working out really well for me. I'm actually happy, overall and don't just think "life sucks, the end." I just keep it going by keeping the shitty people/events out of it and meeting better people, making sure I stay single, and doing things I enjoy. Whatever I want whenever I want; A bit selfish sounding, but it's working out and it has yet to harm anyone else...Probably because I'm a nice person and part of whatever I want/whenever I want IS what makes other people happy too. I just have a huge prejudice against mean people. In other news, being 21 is nice. I'm still not a big drinker, but going to parties or bars every now and then is fun...especially when there's no worry about it being illegal. Between it being in March and the alcohol I'm having trouble remembering my birthday party right now, but I do remember it was fun. I've been reading The Da Vinici Code and I miss Paris. It's a great book. I'm also working on a 1,000 piece puzzle of the Mona Lisa. I finished all the episodes of South Park, so I should get a new show to replace that. I think I have a small cough now, but I'm sure it'll go away soon enough. ...And I'm sure some other stuff has happened but I can't think of what else to mention right now, so that's it!
