I never once intended my post to be the shot heard round the livejournal, so to speak. Trust me, though I knew there'd be some flack for the posting, I never *once* saw it going the way it did. Hindsight is always 20/20, though, isn't it? I'm sorry that you had to make an alt journal. I think, again, (and I made a posting about this) that the trouble comes from confusion over audience: we all use LJ for different purposes--some as a mass email to friends, some as a soapbox, some as an interesting place to hang out and do memes. For me, LJ is a chance to do several of these things, but most of all it's a placeholder for emotions. I was extremely upset that day, and so I wasn't censoring. It was never intended to be anything more than that. To say I misjudged my audience would be an understatement. I'm sorry that by doing that, I caused you inconvenience.
