So, I finally got around to seeing 300 this weekend.  Let me say that I don't get excited about much, but I've been hopping up and down with anticipation over this movie for about 5 months.  Let's run through the math:

Frank Miller's harsh and imaginative storytelling = good.
THE most glorious battle in ancient history = better.
A + B = FUCKING

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie too. I didn't mind the Braveheartesque ending - but then again, I could only sit through the first half of Sin City before I couldn't take it anymore. (personal preference regarding gratuitous violoence/torture...) It's been awhile since there's been a historical fiction movie (I know based on a graphic novel...but that was fiction based on historical events) as good as that. Kudos to Hollywood, for once.

The movie was a huge let-down for me. Not once did I see anything that resembled a bowling ball, much less anyone bowl a perfect game.

Great - just staying super busy now with work, and trying to finish some long-term projects. Really, the exciting stuff is all blogged in livejournal ;)

It sucks having to get up every morning for work!!
